Little is known about his biological parents. Laura was a drug addict and, as often happens in such situations, acted as a secret informant of the police department Miami. To mitigate her fault, the girl collaborated with Harry Morgan. In the future, their relationship from purely workers grew into romantic. However, it is not a fact that for Harry it meant something-dester's mother was far from the only one with whom he cheated on his wife.

The main task of Laura was to collect data on the local drug lord - Santos Jimenes. Harry, in turn, promised the girl to provide protection in case of danger, but the situation got out of control-learning about the work of Laura, Jimenez abducted her and dismembered her in a cargo container right in front of her three-year-old son. When, three days later, Harry found what was left of Laura, he had no choice but to take a little dester from his family a feeling of guilt.

By virtue of his young age, the boy immediately forgot about what had happened, but the crime seen had a much greater influence on him than he might think. Harry immediately noticed that something was happening with the child-as Dexter grew up, he fought into society more and more difficult. The only thing that was truly attracted was the murders. And although only animals became the victims of the new maniac, it was obvious that this was only the beginning of the path.

Instead of scolding his son for inappropriate behavior, Harry decided to draw up a set of rules for the dester, thanks to which he could calmly coexist with his “dark fellow traveler”. According to the Harry Code, the desteror was allowed to deal with people who committed a serious crime in particular, murder. So Harry not only helped his son, but also made a great favor to the judicial system, which, according to Morgan, worked not perfectly.

When the dester was twenty years old, he decided to demonstrate the fruits of his upbringing to his father - he killed another criminal and dismembered him in his garage. However, Harry could not appreciate the act of his son - despite the fact that he himself allowed the dester to kill, the appearance of the divided corpse horrified him. On the same day, Harry committed suicide, unable to live with the realization that he created a monster with his own hands.

It is interesting that Laura had two sons - Dexter and his elder brother Brian, who later turned into an ice killer. Harry at first glance determined that the psyche of five -year -old Brian was much more damaged than the dester, and therefore immediately sent the boy to the orphanage. Dexter all his life believed that his biological father died with his mother in the container, but this was not so - after the incident with Laura Harry, he forced Joe to leave the city and never return to his family.

However, all the colleagues who digging under the dester did not live long - the sergeant DOKS burned down in an abandoned house, and Stan Liddy was stabbed in his own van.

However, this family “idyll” did not last long - at the end of the fourth season, a maniac named Trinity killed Rita to take revenge on the dester, who literally stepped on his heels.

After the death of Rita, her children, Cody and Astor, moved to live with her father’s parents, and Dexter, taking Harrison, returned to his bachelor apartment.Despite the feeling of guilt, constantly tormenting the dester, he was not one long. In the fifth season, Lumen Pierce, a young girl who fell into the hands of a group of rapists, mocking women and then killed them, became his girlfriend.

Uniting with the dester, Lumen tracked down their offenders and traced that they were all in the next world. It is interesting that on the site of the last murder of Debra Morgan collided with Lumen, but gave her to escape, as she understood her motivation. Having dealt with the rapists, the girl decided to return to her hometown and start life again, and Dexter remained alone again.
