Biography of the poet Ushakov
Born on June 6 in Rostov of the Yaroslavl province. Father is an artillery officer, the mother died when the child has not reached four years old.
Ushakov spent his childhood at the grandmother’s estate located in the same Yaroslavl province. Undoubtedly, a family story, rich and diverse, also influenced him: Grandfather - Lieutenant of the Semenovsky regiment was sentenced to execution, later a replaced link, for propaganda among workers, his grandmother was related to the Trubetskiy, great -grandfather - a participant in the Borodino battle, another great -grandfather was also a participant in the Patriotic War of the year, was associated with the illegal Decembrists.
At the beginning of the creative path, Ushakov acted as a weekly filmmaker in one of the Kyiv newspapers, tried to write scripts, the shootings were not finished to the end, and the finished film, shot in another script, composed poetic feuilletons and plays for the Blue Blouse. Despite the seemingly small literary experience, already in the city of Ushakov himself at first he was entered the group of young poets “Maine”, and subsequently declared his commitment to constructivism.
However, the connection with the constructivists was more formal than real. In G.'s glorified book, such cemeteries on which old cars rested - a frequent phenomenon in the twenties - were extremely picturesque enough that B. Kustodiev urged young artists to use such a wonderful artistic motive. About such a cemetery, stretching from post-Volynsky almost to Svyatoshin, and wrote the poems of Ushakov, but his lines are painted not so much by the pathos of the new industrial world, but by enthusiasm before the beauty and power of machines mixed with sadness, because their life also comes to an end, like human life.
If we talk about Ushakov’s early verses and their consonance with any searches of Soviet art, it is quite obvious that he is close to the work of the artists of the OST group, and not the epic fabrics of A. Deineki, but the more lyrical works of S. Luchishkin and especially A. Labas, who has a new creative world-airplanes, airships, the railway-is adjacent to the slightly squeezed world of nature-the greens of trees, the greens of trees, the greens Heavenly blue, troublesome streets and squares.
Behind the collection “Spring of the Republic”, composed of poems before those who saw the light in such Moscow publications as the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, the magazines “Young Guard”, “New World” and “New Lef”, and who received high grades in the press, were followed by the others, about the subjects and pathos of which are the significant names “Hot Windows” and “Calendar” both, “The world for us”.
Travels throughout the country, often on cruel off -road, were reflected in the outskirts of “Traveling” and “New Travel” from other prosaic works should also mention the peculiar story of Kyiv’s beloved “Tale of Quick Years” and the autobiographical novel “Along Hot Asphalt” Poetic collections “Northern Lights”, “Spring”, “Theoredolite”, “I am not rhyme” I’m afraid of the verbal ...
”And the collection of“ The anchor of the Earth ”, who was published shortly after the death, again confirmed that Ushakov, according to merits, was considered a wonderful master of the verse. The reason why the loud glory bypassed the poet was that he lived not in the capital's cities, but in cultural, but still almost peripheral Kyiv, as well as a flat fate, as if unnatural for Russian poetry, where the tragedy follows the tragedy, and the high drama of fate is considered a “good tone” for the poet.
Ushakov was intensively engaged in a poetic translation, for example, he translated the German poets G. Heine and N. Lenau, the Ossetian poet K. Khatagurov, the Uzbek poet Mukimi, and besides them, the poets of Lezginsky, Kazakh, Jewish, Mongolian, Armenian and Hungarian. A separate topic is its contribution to the culture of Ukraine. Ushakov was a mentor of several peculiar Ukrainian poets, translated a lot from the Ukrainian language, and translated not only poems, but also prose, but also edited other people's translations, we can recall at least collected works, one-volume or individual books by T.
Shevchenko, M. Kotsyubinsky, I. Franco, P. also own very interesting, in his own way, fascinating articles about literature, art of translation and poetic art. N. Ushakov died on the night of November 17 in Kyiv.
